A native of Camden, New Jersey, Dr. Charles P. Loftland, Jr. is a sustainability practitioner, author, educator, retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant, and organizational strategist whose career bridges public service, higher education, community development, and international collaboration.

His professional experience spans sustainability education, environmental justice, workforce development, organizational leadership, community planning, and cross-sector collaboration. Drawing upon his military leadership, academic research, and community-centered practice, he advances strategies that connect institutions, people, and places to create more equitable and sustainable futures.
Dr. Loftland is the author of My Sun Is Black: Foundations of a Diasporic Nexus Framework, Volume I and creator of the Diasporic Nexus Framework, Afrofuturarchy, and Green Reserve concepts. His work explores how diasporic relationships, cultural knowledge, regenerative economic thinking, and collective leadership can support community empowerment and shared prosperity.
As founder of SoulPolis Ventures, he brings these ideas into practical application through strategic consulting, publishing, thought leadership, and collaborative initiatives that connect local communities with global opportunities.
